Punch Room is a cocktail bar in the Edition Hotel, this project was to create a series of illustrations for Punch Room's (Edition Hotel, Shanghai) winter menu in 2019, the style had to be consistent with the menu in their London venue, yet need to incorporate 

all elements of punch (spirit, tea, citrus, sugar, spice) and should distinctively using

elements of Chinese history, culture, landmarks. The illustrations needed to be relatable to the greater viewing public not just the hospitality industry. There are 9 illustrations throughout the whole menu, including cross pages spread through the five categories in the book.

The idea for this illustration was to emphasise Edition Shanghai located in a city with the culture of East meets West. Hence the surrealistic illustration has shown the iconic Shanghai skyline, the 17-19 century fountain style alcohol pot. The peacock is oriental and important to Chinese culture. The jasmine flowers are very common used in Chinese tea, the orange is often used in cocktails. As the image of the front, I wanted to showcase the city where this branch of Edition calls home

All the illustrations were based on real historical or cultural objects and imagination to represent chapter of the drinks.
